How Somerston Group transformed their family office with PlainSail.

Background on your business, what were the primary challenges or problems you were facing before using PlainSail?

We are a family office based in Jersey with a Trust Company Business licence, providing administration, secretarial, accounting and treasury services to structures established to manage the family wealth. We were looking for an alternative to our current corporate administration and accounting system.

What led you to consider PlainSail and what were the key factors in your decision to choose PlainSail?

We reviewed the PlainSail offering as part of our plan to move to implement a new corporate administration system. The whole team were impressed by the look and feel of PlainSail, particularly when compared to our current system. What was the implementation/migration process like?

The implementation process was fairly straightforward and it was great to be able to liaise with Sam and the team throughout the whole process. Where there were any challenges, these were quickly resolved by direct dialogue with the PlainSail team.

What tangible benefits have your users experienced since using PlainSail?

The team love the look and feel of the PlainSail system. It is user friendly and easy to navigate. We had previously struggled to easily view all of our customer information in one place, in order to provide us with a full overview of each customer entity. This is now possible through PlainSail.

We have also customized workflows for things like customer periodic reviews and risk assessments, including approvals, which has made these tasks much more efficient and ensuring a full audit trail.

Our team have built up really strong relationships with the PlainSail team, and know that where there are any issues, it is easy to contact Sam and the team. Answers to queries are generally prompt and offer the solutions that are needed.
